Tree Removal

Tree removal is one of the most sought-after services that we offer.

Tree removal is delicate and complex, combining layered skills, experience and training to ensure accidents are avoided. At Sunshine Coast Tree Services, we are highly experienced, fully trained and insured.  We offer a free onsite evaluation to assess your tree removal needs. With all our quotes, we will be assessing the following factors for tree removal before proceeding including:

  • Position of tree
  • Health of the tree
  • Potential tree hazards
  • Noxious weed containment
  • Protection of local native species
  • Projected growth of the tree

  • Aesthetic factors
  • Environmental impacts
  • Clearing for future development purposes

After taking into consideration the above factors, we will offer our professional opinion on whether the trees should be removed or trimmed and will discuss the reasons with our clients. The onsite evaluation also allows us to accurately predict the preferred method or combination of methods required to safely and efficiently remove the tree/s.

Tree Trimming & Speciality Trimming

Regular Tree Trimming is an essential part of tree maintenance.

Neighbourhood conflicts or damage caused to adjoining fences results from a lack of regular tree trimming and yard maintenance. A good trim back every 2-3 years of your trees, boundary hedges and selective limb removal ensures you keep your privacy without causing unnecessary damage to property or neighbouring properties. It is also an effective way to keep track of potentially problem trees and have them removed if necessary.

Specialised trimming or pruning of your feature trees and seasonal trimming requirements also ensure your trees remain healthy and will look their best all year round. Specialised trimming includes:

Crown Lifting – Precise trimming and thinning out of large feature trees can create a beautiful canopy over your garden that ‘set’s the scene’ or frames the garden creating a picture of beauty. Trees such as the Poinciana and Jacaranda Tree require specialist trimming to create this magical umbrella shape year after year. Crown lifting removes the lower branches annually to keep a neat spread of foliage and flowers across the very top of the tree, whilst crown thinning reduces the density of the leaf canopy allowing the light and flowers to become more prominent. The Poinciana trees that line our streets are certainly a remarkable sight and well worth the care involved in keeping them looking their best for the next generation to appreciate.

Winter Pruning – Winter is the perfect time for tree pruning because most tree species are in a state of dormancy. During this period, the growth of leaves and branches temporarily halts, making it the ideal time to trim and shape your trees. As we prune your trees in winter, we are strategically preparing them to welcome spring. By removing dead or diseased branches and shaping the tree, we promote new, lush growth. This approach not only enhances your trees' visual appeal but also contributes to their overall health.  Pruning is like giving your trees a fresh start. It ensures that the tree's resources are efficiently used to produce strong, new growth as temperatures rise. This creates a sturdy framework for future foliage.

Storm Season Preparation – Trimming your trees prior to storm season is strongly recommended to ensure you remove potential hazards that could cause damage to your property or family once the storm season hits. Due to our climate, the Sunshine Coast can experience heavy rain and fierce winds that combine to cause trees to be blown over. High winds alone can break off large branches allowing them to fall on your assets. Overhanging branches contribute to clogging of gutters with leaves. A professional thinning of vegetation in late spring can reduce these risks.

Trimming your trees prior to storm season is strongly recommended to ensure you remove potential hazards that could cause damage to your property or family once the storm season hits.  High winds alone can break off large branches allowing them to fall on your house or shed, forcing costly repairs. Branches that overhang property will contribute to the clogging of gutters with leaves and in a heavy storm, this could create overflowing and possible flooding in or around the home. A professional thinning of vegetation and removal of deadwood or overhanging trees can reduce these risks.

Palm Cleaning & Removal

The beautiful Sunshine Coast is abundant with many varieties of Palm Trees.  While they create a lovely tropical feel,  palms require ongoing cleaning and maintenance  and often need removal to make space for additions to your property. Access to backyards to safely clean or remove palms in many residential blocks is very limited.

At Sunshine Coast Tree Services, our ability to climb and piece down palms and heavy seedpods make removal and cleaning possible. Our climbers are experts in climbing palms, ensuring you will get amazing results from your palm cleans, quickly and safely removing dead fronds, dangerous seed pods, and thinning out the crown of the palm.

We offer regular palm cleaning services to our commercial clients also including resorts, businesses and body corporates. See for yourself the difference cleaning your palms can make to your property.

Stump Grinding

Stump Grinding finishes the job right!

Stump Grinding a tree trunk after removal ensures the area is neat & tidy, no further growth from the stump can return, and trip hazards are minimised.

We offer stump-grinding services after a tree or palm is removed. Stump grinding becomes essential if you want to replant, pave, concrete or build over the area, to minimise the risk of a trip hazard or simply to hide the stump from sight.

In some instances, it is not possible to stump grind due to the immediate surroundings, for example, if the stump was located on top of a retaining wall or rocks and pipes surround base of the stump. In these cases, other methods may need to be incorporated. Talk to our friendly team for an assessment.

Onsite Chipping & Mulch Sales

Free Mulch to Clients!

After removing or trimming your trees, we then process the debris through our wood chipper, which creates wonderful wood chips that can be used in and around your gardens, instantly enhancing the look of your gardens but most importantly, it offers nutrients to the soil as it breaks down.

Mulch retains moisture around your plants and shrubs and suppresses weed growth, so you have more time to enjoy your gardens without the hard work!

Our customers will receive mulch from their trees free of charge (if wanted), or we will take the mulch away at no extra cost.
